For someone like me whom hasn't toyed a whole lot with mobile, this talk was great!
Nice talk, very nice presented. I also enjoyed the talks from Tobias on DPC '11, so it was a reason for me to visit this one too :) (Ofcourse the subject also interested me)
After this talk I can confirm most of my apps don't speak HTTP...
Enjoyed the talk, learned quite a few things about arrays and PHP internals. Not some rocket science, but things to take into account on my next project.
A great and interesting introduction to MongoDB. I will start experimenting soon!
Didn't know that much about the SPL classes concerning the arrays ! Great stuff
The first half of the talk has been a bit redundant, although the end do raise some interesting concepts ; a simple service would certainly not need a full framework to run, a micro framework would be way more suitable. As Tobias said, I'd rather had a focus on 2 or 3 micro frameworks for PHP, compare the differences and show what's reusable etc; rather than had a full history of micro frameworks, especially on non-PHP ones (not saying it was not interesting, but too much focused on it regarding the length of the talk)
Steve Jobs would have 5-star rated this talk as well.
That was a great coverage of the capabilities of Symfony 2, although 3.5 hours is certainly not enough to be ready to use the framework at its full power.
I had a taste at Symfony 1 many years ago and didn't like it that much, but as per the overview from that workshop, I think Symfony 2 really deserves spending time on it, even if you don't count on using it for your [professional|personal] projects.
ZF2 won't be released until months, maybe at the end of the year, and is not guaranteed to be any better than SF2.
Keep up the good job :)
Good talk, also inspirational. But shouldn't at least the keynote be unique when it comes to congresses? For me it was the second time I saw those slides.
